Mother's Day.. Wait What? .. When?..

id you know Mother’s Day is just around the corner?  Many forget that this is a special day for ALL Mothers and it's always celebrated on the second Sunday in May.  This year, in the United States, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13, 2018.  Where did Mother’s Day derive from? That’s a great question...the celebration was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and it became an official holiday in our United States I think round abouts 1914 approximately 104 years ago.  Here are a few cards that I made in celebration of Mother’s Day.  Have you gotten started yet? How Do You Manage?

How do you manage multi-crafts?  That’s a question I searched the internet up and down for. I couldn’t find an answer for. I am a card maker, a handmade soap maker and etc. My love lyes with new found craft-soaping. How do I merge the two crafts because I can’t live without either or? I make my cards around my soaps.. wait, I make my soap around my cards.. funny either way, my customers always get  the best of both worlds.  I learned the hard way, I had to learn time management- you have to give a little to get a whole lot!  Second, share! Split that time up honey!! Divide your crafting time in half or incorporate one craft with the other. Self Motivation! Motivate your inner spirit! To get things done! Believe in yourself and your craft!! Be that Little Engine That Could! Find sometime to write this stuff down! Child, make a plan and follow it!! Finally, stay true to yourself and your hobby/craft / art/business. Most of all, incorporate a higher power, for me it’s GOD and let him lead the way!

Do You Card Sketch?

Wait .. what? What is a card sketch? Well,  here is my undictionaryfied definition: It's an idea that someone has come up with on how a finished card should look once you've added your images, stamps, accessories and etc. to their card layout... get it?  This week I participated in a card sketch challenge with my dear friend Raquelle Clifton, you may know her as, "The Lady and Her Stamps" on her Honey Bee Stampers page.  I always feared card sketches but thanks to Raquelle, I now welcome the challenge and participate every chance I get!
